Details: Our new 2024 Liebherr LTM 1650-8.1 all-terrain crane was cycling with the winds of change in Northern BC! The crane completed its first job at the Meikle wind farm. The task was to replace key wind turbine components, which involved lifting a 25-Te gearbox and a 12-Te generator. The crane provided a tip height of 376ft, easily meeting the 350ft requirement to hoist components through the roof of the Nacelle of the 328ft wind turbine. One of our talented operators, Chris Ruttan, skillfully operated the crane, supported by Evan Stoelwinder with Stan Black as supervisor. The Meikle wind farm is operated by Pattern Energy using GE products and is impressively the most powerful wind farm in British Columbia.
