The Challenge
The bridge over Clapperton Creek just north of Merritt was needing to be replaced. From February to May 2020, CEC teamed up with KLL Construction on this Ministry of Transportation job to create a safer creek crossing for the Mill Creek Road commuters.
The Solution
This bridge was originally a temporary bridge so it was in need of a permanent solution. CEC assisted KLL by performing the pile driving, forming and installing the cast-in-place concrete abutments and, lastly, the bridge erection. We used our pile driving leads and hammer which we fabricated in house, and our Manitowoc 2900 tandem lifted the precast concrete bridge girders in place with our 110ton AT Liebherr.
